Visual Narratives: Driving Innovation Between The U.S. And Latin America
New podcast episode
How are you? I hope you’re doing well spreading some good inspiring stories. And not just any stories but those that mirror people’s inner experiences across time and space.
Speaking about location, you want to consider the place where your story takes place as an important character affecting emotional perceptions of your entire plot.
Can you imagine the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) not taking place in New York? Or the first Rocky (1976) - not in Philadelphia?
Miami’s story is no different.
Due to Miami’s location proximity to Latin America (LATAM), it’s only natural that major US corporations have an office presence down here as part of marketing their products and services to LATAM markets.
In recent years, Miami - beyond offering a business + Spanish friendly environment, diversity, active universities, vibrant tech scene, and fun lifestyle - has also attracted LATAM startup founders supported by their local governments, and VC money.
In line with Miami's overall focus, fintech remains the top sector by VC investment in LATAM; $1.6 billion raised by VC accounts for 40% of all investments in 2023 (source: Dealroom).
These LATAM startups arrived in droves seeking faster acceleration routes and/or strategies for entering the US market.
Continuing my podcast’s Miami series, I was curious to learn how Miami entrepreneurship leaders intercept this growing interest.
And in particular, how they leverage visual storytelling to drive innovation between the U.S. and Latin America.
We talked about his journey, role in creating accelerator programs for LATAM startups, visual storytelling strategy, successful examples, common LATAM misconceptions, top 3 tips for entrepreneurship hub leaders who want to drive innovation using visual storytelling - and much more.
It’s all in the latest episode of the Visual Storytelling Today podcast.
