Hello friend,

How are you? I hope your week is going amazingly well.

In this exclusive bi-weekly news commentary for paid subscribers, I share a few news stories that stood out for me as the visual storytelling landscape continues to evolve.

Smell is Making A Come Back

The gist: In an effort to emulate real life experiences, new VR technologies - like OVR’s Ion gadget - attempt to add smell to virtual environments.

Why it matters: First off, when you think about smell - like cooked sausages or a lavender aroma of flowers - you provide your audience with a much richer multi-sensory experience. Also, smells work like “memory capsules” that can send you back to your grandma’s soup after school.
