Hey friend,

What does your Sunday routine look like?

My favorite is spending time at Matheson Hammock Park where I live, Coral Gables - a city that is part of the Miami metropolitan area.

It’s a magical park, especially in the early AMs on Sunday. Too early for you? True! What can I say? I’m a 6 am early riser throughout the week.

If you follow my Instagram, you likely see a bunch of photos from the park I often share.

The place offers a premium blend of views from Miami’s Downtown skyline to kitschy pristine beaches dotted with palm trees swaying in the wind.

Miami’s skyline

Last Sunday, we parked in our regular spot at the largely empty parking lot overlooking Miami’s urban skyline.

With soothing music on and the windows down to let the early morning breeze in, you can effortlessly ease into the “Serenity Now!” zone.

So much so that we hadn’t noticed that across the water line, an outdoor gym miraculously came to life.

People in sporty outfits were walking back and forth carrying weights animated by the instructor’s encouragements who was looking on.

Just so you know, this highly photogenic strip is a backdrop magnet for wedding photographers, birthdays, and influencers - so it wasn’t a big surprise.

I then had a quick chat with my sister, catching up on the latest.

After finishing the call, I turn my head, and poof!

The outdoor gym was gone.

As if a stage crew of a theater show quickly replaced the entire scenery, we started seeing antique VW bugs arriving and parking in a slanted parallel.

In less than 15 minutes, a row of show-stopper beetles was nicely lined up, while their proud owners were prancing around and sharing their makeover stories with curious joggers and bikers.
