Glimpse Into the Post-Smartphone Age

The gist: The smartphone has been playing the protagonist role in our business and personal lives for the past 20 years. Does Apple’s upcoming AI-powered AR glasses is about to transition us into a phone-free wearable world?

Why it matters: As you know, there have been numerous attempts around smart glasses; from Google Glass, Microsoft Hololens, Magic Leap 2, Snapchat Spectacle, Rayban Stories to even a local Miami’s startup, called Lucyd.

Are future devices will become screenless relieving us from handheld or even eyewear devices in order to mix virtual and physical experiences?

You’re right! This discussion brings back that vision of the metaverse, 2021’s hot trend I covered quite extensively.

It’s a shared space between identity, activity and ownership.
