The gist: Last week Apple unveiled their new mixed reality headset, planned to ship in early 2024.

To put this in context, according to PitchBook, Metaverse-related startups received approximately $664 million in funding during the initial five months of 2023, marking a 77 percent decrease compared to the previous year.
