As you know, movies offer the ultimate expression of visual storytelling. So, like marketing to max attention, no wonder they ride on the latest shiny technology. Special effects in movies have undergone tremendous changes over the years. Imagine the early animation of physical objects in sci-fi movies in the ‘60s, IMAX 3D Theaters, and CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery), which seriously broke out in the ‘70s. A good example is Avatar (2009), which required an army of artists to perfect every pixel in each frame. Today, as this article reveals, AI in movies can produce remarkable results at a fraction of the cost and time. Yet, true storytelling is still one bridge too far—at least for now…
