AI-Generated Video

The gist: Last April, a guy with zero video producing skills harnessed AI to create a 30-second video ad for a fake brand called ’Pepperoni Hug Spot.’ It caught viral fire with telling implications.

Why it matters: The video was created using Runway, an AI-powered platform. You can still spot people’s distorted faces, and other glitches.

All it took is use text prompts to describe each scene and let AI take it from there.

Comments from ad industry people naturally disparaged the video: “Haha, our jobs are safe,” and, “stupid AI.”

A similar attempts that caught viral attention was a deepfake video called "Harry Potter by Balenciaga" and another for a fake beer ad.

Which is quite understandable on two levels:
